Tuesday January 24th during the cabinet tours took time out to visit the Lakeland Centre for FASD’s Cold Lake office. Minister Hancock (Human Services); Minister Danyluk (MLA St. Paul/LLB and Transportation); Minister Horner (Deputy Premier and Treasury) along with our MLA, Genia Leskiw; and Mayor Copeland were in attendance. We had the opportunity to give an overview of the Centre services a tiny bit of history; the 2 floor project and the community involvement; our service area; and our advice to government.

On this cool Tuesday September 13, 2011 the United Way Days of Caring had three wonderful volunteers come out to help the Lakeland Centre for FASD with some exterior work on their building. These three individuals from Imperial Oil were Kelly Weibe, Greg Joevenazzo, and Kirsten Demeriez. They graciously donated their time to help paint a back wall that had graffiti on it, a new storage shed and remove graffiti from the side of our brick building. They worked for over four hours to improve the exterior of our new office space and we would like to thank each of them for their volunteer work. We would also like to thank United Way for this great program to allow businesses to volunteer staff hours to help other organizations with projects that they do not have the funds for. The building looks great and we are thankful for all those that participated.
