Jaimie Gehring – Mothers to be Mentor

April 27, 2018 in:

Jaimie Gehring has been working with the Lakeland Centre for FASD for three years as a Mother To Be Mentor. The area Jaimie serves is St. Paul, Frog Lake and area. As a MTBM Jaimie provides one-on-one support to women who are pregnant or have recently given birth and have used drugs and/or alcohol anytime throughout their pregnancy. The one-on-one support can include but not limited to accessing financial supports, housing supports, Child & Family Services involvement, Court proceedings, doctor appointments, etc.  The one thing Jaimie loves about her job is that clients trust her, even when they do not trust anyone in their life.

Jaimie graduated from Blue Quills First Nation College (University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills) with a Diploma in Social Work. Before working with the LCFASD Jaimie worked with individuals with disabilities, at a daycare and as an instructional assistant at the Ashmont Elementary School. Jaimie’s passion is helping all people, adults and children.

Jaimie loves spending time with her fiancé, 4 children, 2 step children, 2 grandchildren and daughter in law as well as all the rest of her family. Family is everything to Jaimie. Jaimie enjoys spending time at her farm on her days off with all her animals. Jaimie loves hunting and fishing and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors.
