The Lakeland Centre for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (LCFASD) has been providing Diagnostic, Intervention and Prevention of FASD services since 2000. We are known across the province and nationwide for our novel, non-judgmental, supportive services.

Our Mission: To establish and ensure that accurate information about FASD, and effective prevention, diagnosis and support services are available in the region.

About the Role:

The Administrative Assistant is a member of the LCFASD team, with specific direction in administrative support.  Under the authority of the Prevention Program Manager, the Administrative Assistant will assist LCFASD Employees with the administrative activities and office functions and complete specific projects as assigned. 

The Administrative Assistant will perform all duties while maintaining the integrity of the LCFASD, confidentiality and all other policies outlined in the Policy Manual and Employee Handbook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests.
  • Answering phones and taking accurate messages.
  • Monitoring staff who are out of the office to ensure safety.
  • Pick up, drop off, sort and distribute mail.
  • Ensure front office is maintained in a neat, tidy and professional manner.
  • Filing.
  • Management and inventory of books, pamphlets and swag.
  • Assist with coordinating Conferences and Training events.
  • Other duties as required.

What you bring to LCFASD:

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education in Office Management or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience

Assets

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a busy environment
  • Computer skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe programs would be considered an asset
  • Flexibility
  • Conflict Resolution skills
  • Knowledge about FASD or disabilities is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

  • Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening).
  • Child Intervention Record Check.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required.

Benefits of working with LCFASD:  

Salary: Hourly wage starting between $19.50 – $20.67.  Hourly wage will be determined by education and experience.  

Schedule: The Administrative Assistant will work at the LCFASD Office in Cold Lake, Alberta.  Hours of work are 8:15am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday
