The Case Coordinator is a member of the LCFASD’s 2nd Floor Women’s Recovery Centre team, with a specific direction in providing pregnant women at risk with support services. Under the authority of the 2nd Floor Residential Manager, the Case Coordinator assumes responsibility for carrying out assigned duties including the overseeing of referrals and intakes, working with Clients to create their Individual Recovery Plan and Aftercare plan for transitioning back to their community, and assisting Clients with any legal matters. The Case Coordinator will perform all duties while maintaining the integrity of the LCFASD, confidentiality and all other policies outlined in the Policy manual and Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education preferred and/or the equivalent of 3-5 years progressive experience in community services, social work or social/recreational programs for youth from social-economically and culturally diverse communities.
• Experience working with at risk female populations will be considered an asset
• A proven understanding and knowledge of issues facing youth such as diversity, adaptation, employment, family stressors, social integration, substance use & the effects of its problematic use, racism and harassment
• Well-developed knowledge of community development principles, conflict resolution, drug education/prevention, harm reduction and youth engagement strategies
• Demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs
