FASD Program Manager – Full Time

The FASD Program Manager is a member of the LCFASD team, with specific direction in managing Key Programs within the LCFASD.  Under the authority of the Executive Director, the FASD Program Manager assumes responsibility for carrying out assigned duties. 

The FASD Program Manager will perform all duties while maintaining the integrity of the LCFASD, confidentiality and all other policies outlined in the Policy manual and Employee Handbook.

Summary of Responsibility:

  • Provide supervision and oversight of the LCFASD Post Dx Outreach Programs
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the LCFASD Diagnostic, Employment and Transitional Housing Services
  • Supervise and provide support to employees
  • Participate On Call rotation for 2nd Floor Women’s Recovery Centre.
  • Apply policy and follow organizational procedures
  • Represent and promote the LCFASD within the region
  • Communicate with key stakeholders
  • Complete funding reporting requirements
  • Work within a team capacity at the LCFASD

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the LCFASD Diagnostic, Employment and Transitional Housing Services
  • Supervise the LCFASD Post Dx Outreach supervisor.
  • Hire, coordinate and orientate new supervisor/employees within the programs responsible for
  • Organize and monitor Program education, training and professional development.
  • Supervision of employees in Diagnostic, Employment and Transitional Housing programs.
  • Ensure Employees abide by LCFASD Policy, complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Train and monitor employees to deliver FASD training.
  • Ensure the Outreach and Diagnostic programs within the Board approved budget with regards to travel and expenses
  • Assist in policy development for other LCFASD Programs
  • Complete reports as required.
  • Build a strong relationship with community agencies for the programs this position supports.
  • Assist supervisors to build strong and effective working teams.
  • Encourage team building and positive working relationships between programs.
  • Identify and promote initiatives that will improve the outcomes of the agency.
  • Assist in managing the LCFASD’s finances.
  • On Call rotation for 2nd Floor Women’s Recovery Centre.
  • Other duties as identified by Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field
    • A Master’s Degree in a Human Services field will be considered an asset
  • Minimum of three years experience in a supervisory position
  • Will have no less than five (5) years direct experience working with high risk populations
  • Will have extensive knowledge and expertise in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
  • An Awareness of aboriginal cultural needs will be considered an asset
  • Experience with Not-for-profit organizations will be considered an asset

Working conditions

The Program Manager will work in the Lakeland area as designated by the LCFASD Board of Directors.  The regional offices for the LCFASD will be at Cold Lake, Alberta.

Hours of work are flexible within a one-month time frame: 36.25 hours per week not to exceed 145 hours per 4 week period.

Physical requirements

Position will require driving and use of personal vehicle when the Agency vehicle is not available.  Proof of third party insurance in the amount on 2 million dollars is required.
