Hello! I’m Roxanne Stonechild, and I’m excited to share that I have recently joined this vibrant team as a Mother-to-be Mentor, dedicated to supporting the members of Cold Lake First Nation. It is truly an honor to serve this community, as I am passionate about empowering, educating, and inspiring individuals to become the best versions of themselves. I believe in walking alongside them on this journey, offering encouragement and guidance every step of the way.
With nearly two decades of front line experience in social work since 2004, I have developed essential skills in advocacy and support, helping individuals navigate and overcome various barriers. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Indigenous Social Work, which combines both Western and Indigenous knowledge to enhance my ability to assist our participants effectively.
So, why Cold Lake, Alberta? As a devoted mother of two and soon-to-be grandmother, my connection to this community is personal and profound. Over the past twenty years, I have been embraced by two families from Cold Lake First Nation. Living and healing on the traditional lands of the Dene Ts’ųnë has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I am eager to give back to the community that has welcomed me with open arms. Together, we can create lasting positive change. Thank you for allowing to introduce myself.
