Scholarships & Awards for FASD Success
Since 1994, the Lakeland Centre For Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (LCFASD) has been helping individuals diagnosed with FASD, their families, schools, employers and community agencies.
The Lakeland Centre for FASD is proud to announce its scholarships and awards programs that benefit those living with FASD and those who support people with FASD.
Afterall, our goal is to support those individuals diagnosed with FASD and help them with the next steps in their education and careers.
FASD Scholarships
The Joanne Lussier-Ring Post-Secondary Scholarship
Applications for the Joanne Lussier-Ring Post-Secondary Scholarship is now open.
Named in honor of Mrs. Joanne Lussier-Ring, the scholarship aims to recognize and support graduating high school students living with FASD and planning to pursue post-secondary education.
Successful applicants of the scholarship will receive $500 to help with the cost of their post-secondary education. The scholarship can be applied to the student’s tuition, books or other required materials.
Eligible students must be:
- Diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
- Living in the LCFASD Service area at the time of Graduation
- Currently in Grade 12 in an LCFASD Service Area High School
- Planning to attend a post-secondary program
Through the Joanne Lussier-Ring Post-Secondary Scholarship, we hope to help more people overcome FASD difficulties and succeed.

The Audrey McFarlane Award
Nominations for the Audrey McFarlane Award is now open.
The Lakeland Centre for FASD through the Audrey McFarlane Award celebrates FASD success.
The award grants recognition to FASD-diagnosed individuals who have triumphed over adversity and family or caregivers who have gone above & beyond to support individuals with an FASD diagnosis.
Nominations are accepted for two categories:
- Individual with FASD or Client in LCFASD Program
- Family or Caregiver
