Meet Candice! Candice is currently serving as the Supervisor for the Mother to Be Mentorship (MTBM) program at the Lakeland Centre for FASD. With over 15 years of frontline experience working directly with at-risk women, Candice is deeply committed to advocating for community services and championing change to support women in need. Her expertise spans various critical areas, including Aboriginal women’s health, the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and addressing mental health and addiction issues prevalent among women at risk. Throughout her career, Candice has worked tirelessly to create and implement programs tailored to meet the unique needs of hard-to-reach women in her community. Candice is an active participant in numerous workshops and conferences, focusing on Harm Reduction strategies to better serve her community. Her dedication to improving access to resources and education for women at risk is evident in the programs she has helped develop and deliver. In addition to her role at the Lakeland Centre for FASD, Candice is the Chair of the Board for the Cold Lake John Howard Society, as well as the Cold Lake District of the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS). She is also an active committee member of the Women of Influence in Cold Lake, an organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating women leaders in the community. Candice’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of women at risk, along with her wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership, makes her a powerful advocate for prevention, and support, particularly in the prevention of FASD.

The Lakeland Centre for FASD provides cost-free programs and services in the Cold Lake, Bonnyville, St. Paul and Lac la Biche areas, as well as on First Nations and Métis Settlements through Alberta.
