Hi Everyone!
I’m Lisa, and I’m honored to serve as the Executive Director of the Lakeland Centre for FASD (LCFASD). In this role, I oversee the organization’s operations, including our prevention, diagnostic, and intervention programs that support individuals and families affected by FASD.
My journey with LCFASD spans over 20 years, during which I’ve been privileged to advocate for and coordinate services for children, youth, and adults with complex needs. I’ve contributed to consultation, data collection, and served as part of the diagnostic clinic team. One of my proudest achievements was helping to develop and organize the Lakeland Summer Camp—a program that continues to provide meaningful support and connection for children and youth with FASD.
Originally from just outside Vancouver, BC, I grew up loving figure skating, soccer, and family trips to incredible destinations like Mexico, China, Australia, France, and Italy. These experiences shaped my appreciation for different cultures and inspired me to create similar adventures for my own children.
I moved to Cold Lake in 2003, where I pursued my passion for social work and FASD. In 2007, I completed a Social Work degree from the University of Calgary while raising a newborn—a unique challenge that even led my professors to joke that my daughter was the youngest participant in the program!
Today, I live on a farm with my two youngest children, where we raise a mix of animals—mostly cats, along with a couple of dogs and chickens. Life here is busy but rewarding, much like the work I’m passionate about.
It’s been an incredible journey so far, and I’m grateful to lead such a dedicated team as we continue to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with FASD and their families. Thank you for letting me share my story!
