I started on my journey with the Lakeland Centre for FASD as a volunteer back in 2010, where I gained employment as a Camp leader for the summer of 2012. I then took a few years off to start my family but always wanted to get back into the Human Services field. Graduating from the Community Support Worker program through Robertson College in March of 2019. I then started my most recent journey with LACFASD, working frontline upstairs with the 2nd Floor Women’s Recovery Center. Where I fell in love working with women who are trying to change their lives.
Recently moving downstairs as Mother’s to be Mentor I now get to work with women on a much more personal level, offering one-on-one support in their day to day lives. Supporting women through their drug/alcohol addictions, legal struggles, mental health supports and life skills development. What I love most about my new position is being able to advocate for these women in ways they often can’t for themselves.
On a more personal note, I was born and raised in Prince Edwards Island, and have been in Cold Lake for nearly 10 years. An Island girl at heart you can often find me by the water or hiking with my family. I live with my boyfriend, our 4 children and the family dog.
