Meet Heather, one of our Outreach Coordinators! Born and raised in Cold Lake, leaving only long enough to remember why the beautiful Lakeland area is home, Heather returned in 2006 to continue raising her family. Family always being her focus and could think of nowhere better to enjoy time together than in rural Alberta rich in landscape and opportunity. Appreciative of the small town strong community connections that are so important, but loving the closeness to nature to indulge her inner hermit! Heather has been with the Lakeland Centre for FASD from her return in 2006 onwards. Joining the team in its early years, she has seen the LCFASD grow and been a part of its practice of providing programming responsive to our community’s needs for 19 years. Having worked in the Human Services field for 10 years previous, knew quickly that the LCFASD client centered, strengths based approach was the perfect fit.
